2025 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat with Brass Monkey Special

The era of the Durango with the Hemi V-8 engine is coming to an end, and Dodge has unveiled a series of special editions to commemorate the engine's first 20 years on the SUV.

The latest model was unveiled Thursday as the 2025 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat Brass Monkey. It joins the previous Hammerhead and Silver Bullet, also based on the Durango SRT Hellcat, and the 20th anniversary special based on the Durango R/T.

All special editions are already available for order, with a starting price for the Brass Monkey set at $113,720 by destination. Production will be limited, but Dodge has not revealed the exact number of units of each model.

The Brass Money in the name of the latest special edition comes from the bronze (or brass) color that Dodge offers as a wheel and badging option on various vehicles. Other special touches include a sepia finish on the leather trim, silver SRT Hellcat logos on the seats, a suede headliner, leather and suede steering wheel, and forged carbon fiber dash accents.

A long list of Durango premium equipment is also standard. These include a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a wireless phone charger, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Brembo brakes are also included as part of the package.

Under the hood is a stock Hellcat supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. This engine produces 710 horsepower in the Durango SRT Hellcat, accelerates from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds, has a quarter-mile passing time of 11.5 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 180 mph, impressive numbers for a midsize SUV with third-row seating.

The Durango was the last Dodge to feature a V-8. Like the last V-8-powered Challenger and Charger muscle cars, Dodge is also planning a series of “last call” special editions to mark the end of the V-8 engine run in the Durango. The first of these was unveiled in January as the 2024 Durango SRT 392 AlcHemi, with more planned for 2025.

Dodge is then expected to unveil the Durango's successor in 2026, which is currently rumored to be a small crossover reviving the Stealth name.
