Polestar Arctic Circle Collection like a Swedish rally car.

Several years ago, Polestar gave its engineers the unique challenge of designing a Polestar 2 optimized for the harsh winter conditions of their home base in Sweden.

The result was the Paulstar 2 Arctic Circle, a one-of-a-kind concept inspired by the performance and capabilities of winter rally cars.

The popularity of the original concept convinced Polestar to dream up similar concepts based on the newer 3 mid-size SUVs and 4 compact crossovers. Audi will also use the event to unveil the rugged Q6 E-Tron concept with portal axle.

Polestar is not as extreme as Audi, but it does have rally experience. Joakim Rydholm, head of driving dynamics at Polestar, is a veteran of many Swedish rally podiums and has been heavily involved in the development of the Arctic Collection.

Some of the upgrades common to all three vehicles include a raised ride height, three-way adjustable Ohlins dampers, OZ Racing wheels, Pirelli studless tires, Recaro bucket seats, and Steady driving lights.

Several accessories have also been added to make life on snowy roads a little easier, and they were developed in conjunction with companies that already offer or will offer parts for Polestar vehicles. Accessories include roof racks, snow shovels, skid plates, and, in the case of the three SUVs, snow ladders.

Polestar has not indicated whether it plans to put any of the vehicles in the Arctic Collection into production, but it is possible that elements of the concepts will be incorporated into future models or offered through Polestar stores.
