2025 Polestar 3, 2025 BMW M2: Top photos of the week

The Polestar 3 will begin deliveries in the United States this summer. This electric mid-size SUV brings a clean Swedish design, seating for five, and up to 517 hp.

Spain's Hispano-Suiza has unveiled a new version of its electric hypercar, the Carmen. The latest version boasts an output of 1,100 hp and a 103 kwh battery that the company says was developed completely in-house.

Another electric hypercar that made headlines this week is the "Owl SP600" presented by Japan's Aspark. The car is still in the prototype stage, but tests have shown that it is capable of reaching a top speed of 272.6 mph.

BMW's 2 Series was updated this week to include the M2 variant. While the regular coupe received only a few tweaks, the M2 received a 20 hp power increase, bringing its total output to 473 hp, the same as the base M3.

Ford wanted the Mustang GTD to set a Nürburgring lap time under 7 minutes, so it developed a sophisticated aerodynamics package. This package will be sold separately along with another package that adds some weight savings, Ford announced this week.

The R35 Nissan GT-R is sailing off into the sunset, 16 years after its launch. At least for this generation, the 2024 model will be Godzilla's last. A successor is planned, but it may be years before we see it, and that car may well be an EV.

Kalmar Automotive of Denmark has finally started delivering Porsche 911 Restomods in the US. The car is available locally through Canepa in California, and production is capped at 12 cars per year for worldwide consumption.

And finally, Swiss electric car startup Piech, founded by the son of engineering icon Ferdinand Piech, is planning to launch a sports car. The car was originally slated for release this year, but has been restarted and is now slated for launch in 2028.
