Get the historic Willow Springs International Raceway listed for sale

The Willow Springs International Raceway in California is on sale, raising questions about the future of the historic track.

First discovered by the Drive, the list is placed on LoopNet and provides a little more detail on the track and does not list a brilliant sale price for potential future owners.

Willow Springs has been owned by the Huth family for the past 62 years. They kept the facility more or less the same for decades, leaving Willow Springs accessible and unpretentious, while other trucks were modernized to attract rich customers — or simply disappeared into residential areas.

Located about 80 miles north of Los Angeles, Willow Springs actually consists of 2.5 miles of Big Willow Road Course, Willow Street, Horseshoe Miles, skid pads, autocross patches and 7 tracks, including Dirt Oval. Aside from some early experiments in NASCAR, it was primarily a facility for enthusiasts rather than professional racers.

Willow Springs, which opened in 1953, was designed with the help of Ken Miles, a driver and car tinker profiled in "Ford vs Ferrari" (also filmed in Willow Springs).

It was purchased by Bill Huth in 1962 and was intended to turn the front of the Big Willow straight into a drag strip, his son told Motor Trend in 2015. But it turned out to be too short, so the course of the road stayed. Haas died in 2015 at the age of 91, and his family continues to run the truck until now.

As a drive note, the sale does not mean Willow Springs will disappear. It is in the place of the road is not conducive to development. However, the list encourages potential investors to pursue "high-end customers" and turn to "increased gate rates and concession sales, additional accommodation options, and long-term garage rentals.""So new owners can change the character of the truck to make it harder to access.
