The Jaguar XJS-based TWR Supercat is ready for production with a 660 hp V-12

Tom Walkinshaw Racing was a British motorsport and engineering company with success in F1 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It went down in 2002, but was recently revived by the son of the founder of the original company.

The first product from the new TWR is the Supercat, the Jaguar XJS restomod that spits out 660 horsepower. The output is produced by the supercharged 5.6-liter V-12, which TWR developed in-house, but is based on the original XJS5.3-liter V-12. The drive will be on the rear wheels only.

The Supercat was first released on May 4, but development is now complete and TWR has confirmed delivery will begin in mid-2025. Only 88 examples are built, and the number of nod to Le Mans in the first 24 hours of the original TWR wins back in the Jaguar XJR-9 in 1988.

TWR sources Donor XJS coupe for a build. The XJS is a Grand Tourer built between 1975 and 1996, and the dedicated racing version, Supercat by the original TWR for entry to various touring car championships, is part of its racing history due to its wild design, as well as the XJR-9, XJR-15, XJ220 Supercharger and the XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR-XJR It incorporates details from other iconic jaguars of that era, such as the Hoodie

The body is entirely made of carbon fiber and features a unique wide body design that measures 77.8 inches at its widest point. The car exhaust tip is also mounted on the side, which allowed the designer to fit a large rear diffuser spanning the width of the body. The use of carbon fiber and carbon ceramic brakes also helped to save weight. The curb weighs 3,538 pounds, down from the original 3,902 pounds.

The interior, just like the exterior, is a mix of old and new. One of the elements that is held is the 6-speed manual that TWR said was important to provide an analog experience. But the original rear seats are given boots. In their place there is an extended luggage area.

TWR also employed the talent of car customizers Magnus Walker and Khyzyl Saleem for the Supercat. Walker is known for the collection and re-modification of classic cars, especially among the Porsche circles. Saleem, who goes by the handle Kyza online, is a renowned up-and-coming talent for designing wild and over-the-top cars as 3D models. He also has his own line of body kits, which are sold under the LTO brand.

The price of the Supercat starts at 225,000 British pounds (about2285,000), and buyers can choose between left and right drive configurations. According to TWR, some US buyers have already placed deposits.
