Ford Revives Street Trucks with FP700S F-150 Concept

Prior to the introduction of the F-150 Raptor in 2010, Ford's performance option for the F-150 was a street truck called the F-150 Lightning, which, unlike the current electric pickup, had a V-8 under the hood.

As the size and weight of the F-150 increased over the years, Ford decided to move away from the street truck concept, but performance technology caught up, especially in the areas of powertrain and brakes, and as a result, Ford was ready to attract a new generation of street truck fans It's ready. [This upgrade package will be previewed along with the Ford Performance Parts FP700S F-150 concept at the 2024 SEMA Show in Las Vegas next week. The upgrade package will be offered through a new customization program called Ford Custom Garage, which will also be unveiled at next week's SEMA Show.

The exact features included in the package will be announced closer to market launch, but Ford Performance Parts FP700S F-150 Concept hints at what is to come.

The concept is based on the F-150 XL regular cab with a 5.0-liter V-8 rear-wheel drive. The engine will be fitted with a Ford Performance FP700 supercharger, raising output from the stock 400 hp to 700 hp. It is also fitted with a cat-back exhaust system.

Other upgrades include lowered suspension, front fender vents, and unique badging and graphics.

All packages offered through Ford Custom Garage maintain Ford's new car warranty and the vehicle can be serviced at any Ford dealer.

Ford will also use the SEMA Show to unveil an F-150 designed for advanced off-road driving; called the Ford Performance ORV F-150, this concept is based on the F-150 XLT FX4 with a 5.0-liter V-8 It features upgrades such as a Bilstein 2.0-inch suspension lift kit, underbody protection, auxiliary upfit switches, additional driving lights, and unique wheel and body graphics.
