2025 Cadillac Escalade, all screens and more upscale

Cadillac's electric Escalade IQ will go on sale later this summer, but the gasoline-powered model will continue to be sold alongside it, albeit with a series of updates that will set its styling and technology apart from its more modern, battery-powered counterparts.

Cadillac unveiled the updated Escalade on Wednesday, confirming a production start later this year. Like the Escalade IQ, the updated Escalade will be available in the U.S. for the 2025 model year, with both the regular Escalade and the high-performance Escalade-V available when it arrives.

Changes to the Escalade are extensive. Exterior changes include a new front end design with slit turn signals on the front edge of the hood. The main headlight clusters arranged vertically below them also include daytime running lights. The crest logo and grille surround are illuminated.

Other exterior changes include a reshaped rear end with new taillights, new shaped exhaust tips, and new wheel patterns ranging from 22 to 24 inches in diameter The 24-inch wheels are the largest wheels ever fitted on an Escalade.

The interior has also received a major facelift. Up front, a new dashboard features the same high-tech as the Escalade IQ. This includes a 55-inch digital screen that spans the width of the dash, serving as the instrument cluster, infotainment screen, and passenger screen. If that is still not enough, there is another screen in the center console that is used for climate control and other vehicle settings. Cadillac has confirmed that Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will continue to be offered.

Premium touches include power-operated doors, including a driver's door that opens on approach; an AKG audio system with 36 speakers as standard and 40 speakers when combined with the executive second-row package; and General Motors' “Super Cruise” automatic driver assistance feature for highways “ and more.

Cadillac does not mention any mechanical changes. Cadillac has standard air springs and magnetic dampers on most models.

Escalade buyers can now choose between two options: a 6.2-liter V-8 with 420 horsepower in a regular SUV or a 3.0-liter inline-6 turbodiesel with 277 horsepower. Both powertrains offer adequate performance, but for serious excitement, the Escalade-V comes with a 682-horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine.

A 10-speed automatic is standard on all models, and while rear-wheel drive is standard on regular models, the Escalade-V comes standard with a four-wheel drive system.

Pricing will be announced closer to launch.
