Audi Teases E-Tron GT Update

Audi will likely update the E-Tron GT to mirror changes made to the related Porsche Taikan for the 2025 model year.

Range, performance, and comfort will be improved, and a new flagship grade may be introduced. Audi has not said when the updated E-Tron GT will be available, but a launch late this year or early next year is likely.

Audi released photos of a camouflaged prototype on Tuesday. The photos show that the styling will remain largely unchanged. There appears to be a new front mask that makes the car appear wider. Perhaps the focus is on the infotainment system.

As for mechanical updates, Audi has only confirmed an improved suspension system with new adjustment levels. This likely refers to the dual-valve damper added to the updated Taycan. This damper can adjust both rebound and compression, resulting in a wider performance bandwidth with respect to comfort and handling control.

Audi currently offers the E-Tron GT in the US in standard and sporty RS grades. Both are powered by a 93 kwh battery and have a range of 249 miles, with the RS grade's maximum output equaling 637 hp in boost mode (normally 597 hp), 0-60 mph acceleration in 3.1 seconds, and a top speed of 155 mph. Maximum output for the standard grade is 522 hp with boost mode (normally 496 hp).

The updated Taycan's battery has been increased to 105 kwh, which would be the same for the updated E-Tron GT. The charging speed should also be faster. Turning again to the updated Taycan, the maximum charging speed of the updated E-Tron GT should be 320 kwh, up from the current 270 kwh.

Horsepower should also increase significantly. There are rumors that Audi will add a new RS Performance E-Tron GT flagship, possibly with maximum output approaching the 938 hp of the Taycan Turbo S.

The updated E-Tron GT news comes as the new 2025 Audi Q6 E- TRON compact crossover coming shortly after its public unveiling. Audi is also preparing the new A6 E-Tron for launch later this year and plans to introduce only EVs after 2026.
