2025 GMC Yukon leads the brand's global expansion

GMC plans to unveil a revised version of its Yukon full-size SUV later this year, and the teaser photos released this week hint at this.

Clearly visible is a new headlight design that is taller and narrower than the current Yukon; GMC has also confirmed changes to the fascia and grille. The new model revealed is the off-road capable AT4 grade, which was added in 2021, when the Yukon was last redesigned.

Other tweaks include the addition of a much larger infotainment screen, new electronic driver assistance features including the latest version of General Motors' Super Cruise automated driving system, and even an available turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 diesel Power increases and other changes made to the related Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban twins for the 2025 model year should be reflected.

For Chevrolet, diesel output has been increased from 277 hp to 305 hp. Even the current 2024 Yukon has a diesel output of 277 hp, and the improved Yukon is expected to match Chevrolet's 305 hp. Other options currently available for the Yukon include a 355 hp 5.3-liter V-8 and a 420 hp 6.2-liter V-8. These two gas engines will likely be retained and reflect the latest Chevrolet powertrains.

The updated Yukon will arrive in 2025 and will follow the arrival of the redesigned 2024 Acadia, which will be in dealerships this spring.

The latest update is more important than in the past, GMC confirms, as the 2025 Yukon will "spearhead" GMC's entry into global markets, starting with Australia, China and New Zealand. Currently, the only region outside of North America in which GMC operates is West Asia.
