Speedcore built a 1968 Charger with Herefant Power for the Sterantis project manager.

After more than two years in the making, the SpeedKore Hellucination, powered by a 1,000-horsepower Herefant V-8, has been unleashed on the world.

The car is the latest creation of the wild wizards at Wisconsin's SpeedKore Performance Group and is based on a 1968 Dodge Charger. Ralph Gires, chief of Sterantis Design, describes the car as a "dream car."

The Helfant engine powering the car is a 7.0-liter supercharged V-8 related to the more widely known Hellcat, which produces 1,000 horsepower and 950 lb-ft of torque and is mated in Hellcination to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission in helcination, powering only the rear wheels. Its rear wheels are huge 20x12-inch custom HREs wrapped with 345/30 size tires. At the front are 19x9-inch wheels, wrapped in 245/35-size tires.

A similar configuration was used in the 1970 Charger that SpeedKore built for actor and comedian Kevin Hart.

Big power handling is certainly a SpeedKore talent, but the company's real claim to fame is building full carbon fiber bodies, and the Hellucination features more carbon fiber than any previous build. This is perhaps best illustrated by the car's carbon fiber floorpan. This design resembles that of a racing car and helps to increase the rigidity and stiffness of the entire structure.

SpeedKore also used a custom frame and roll cage reinforced around the perimeter. This is complemented by Detroit Speed's double A-arm front suspension and a custom four-bar with diagonal links in the rear, with Penske adjustable coilovers and a Detroit Speed sway bar completing the setup. Stopping power comes from a Brembo brake package with six-piston calipers up front and dual four-piston calipers in the rear.

SpeedKore also built a custom interior for the car, complete with seats from Gabe's Custom Interior, Classic Instruments gauges, and a Kicker 2,000 watt audio system with six speakers and dual subwoofers.

"The '68 Charger is my favorite vintage American car," Jill said in an Instagram post on Wednesday.

"It's been a really fun journey to have the amazing opportunity to use the latest fabrication techniques to blend the new with the old like a fine cocktail."
