Ford Bronco pre-wired switches make it easy to install additional powered devices

Just when you thought the new 2021 Ford Bronco couldn't get any cooler, Ford has another surprise in store.

Blue Oval has designed the latest Bronco with pre-wired breakers for easy installation of powered accessories like auxiliary lighting and kitchen camping equipment. The system has four 30-amp, 15-amp and 10-amp fuses. There is also a fuse box under the hood in case the fuses are replaced.

Pre-wired switches are mounted on the cab roof and cables are routed to key locations in the vehicle. Connectors are located in the rear duffel compartment, glove box, front and roof of the vehicle, and on the firewall.

This means that no holes need to be drilled or wires run when installing power accessories, reducing the risk of problems such as leaks, rattling, and electrical malfunctions.

Pre-wired switches come standard on the more off-road-oriented Black Diamond, Wild Truck and Badlands models, and are also available on Base and Outer Banks models.

Deliveries of the 2021 Bronco will begin this summer after a slight delay caused by a cobid. The base engine is a 270-horsepower, 2.3-liter turbocharged inline four, with a choice of a seven-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission. Above that sits a 310-hp 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6, which is only offered with an automatic transmission. The 2021 Bronco has a starting price of $29,995. This includes delivery, and is the same as the Heritage and high-performance Raptor (or is it Warthog?) models.
